Charm Crossing Quilt

Charm Crossing ... doesn't that sound like a lovely, cozy place to visit? Oh, believe me, it is!

I purchased two charm packs of Etchings by 3 Sisters for Moda, went on the search for a quilt pattern and fell in love with Charm Crossing by Tammie at craftytammie.com. Her Charm Crossing quilt was featured at Moda Bake Shop, which is where I first saw it.

This is only the second pieced quilt I've made, the first being a baby quilt for Princess Melody last year. The Etchings fabrics feature reds, creams, grays and blues. Finished size of my quilt is 63" by 77".

Here is my Charm Crossing journey in pictures. The 84 5" charm squares ...

A stack of quarter square triangles ...

Sorting them by color for layout ...

Working the design wall ...

The flimsy with borders ...

Pin basted ...

Quilting ...

Binding cut ...

Pressed and rolled ...

Attaching the binding ...

Finished front ...

and back ...

Completed today. It's been on the shelf for a while, just needing the binding. Took a few pictures outside and immediately put it into the washing machine with three Color Catchers (the possibility of the reds bleeding really made me nervous). Luckily, it came out perfect ... all soft and crinkly and I just love it. Not sure yet if it's going in the family room or on our bed, but I'm definitely keeping this one for myself. I'm planning to visit Charm Crossing a lot once the weather cools off.

So many projects, never enough time ...
